Newton and Hoole Weekly Round Up 2!

Further to the Alert you have just received, Will asked me to post this on his behalf highlighting the work that he has been doing in the area:

Hello,

Last month we brought you news of warrant I executed in Newton. Now the case has been concluded we can reveal more details.

Sheldon Holland was sentenced to 45 months at Chester Crown Court on Monday 30 June.

The 61-year-old, of Myrica Grove, Chester, had previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine.

On 30 May 2025, a warrant was carried out at an address in Heathcote Place, Chester, which was Holland’s address at the time.

Numerous wraps of brown and white powder were located at the address, along with a large quantity of cash, burner 'graft’ phones and drug paraphernalia.

Holland was subsequently arrested and admitted that the powders – confirmed as heroin and crack cocaine – were his, as well as the cash.

I welcome the sentence handed to Holland who was left with no choice but to plead guilty to the offences.

I hope this sends a stark warning that we will continue to crack down on this behaviour and protect the communities we serve from illegal drugs.

We would urge anyone who has any information about drug-related activity to contact us and we will do the rest.

As highlighted in the residents voice, there has been concern as to the anti-social behaviour of rough sleepers in Alexandra Park. While homeless in not a crime and every effort will be made to guide these persons to the correct resources, open air drugs use, drunkenness and threatening/aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.  On Thursday, I was alerted to an abandoned tent and informed the former occupant had been involved in the aforementioned behaviours/activities. Working with the community safety wardens we managed to clean the area of the tent and drug paraphernalia in no time at all and restore this part of the park.

Again, have a great weekend and we will see you in the next update!
